Which Vampire Diaries character has the same tatto with Connor?

In the second episode of The Vampire Diaries‘ fourth season, viewers met the show’s new vampire hunter Connor Jordan (Todd Williams).
Prior to “Memorial,” Connor was described as a ruthless, malicious killer and he certainly lived up to all the hype. Not only did he shoot at Tyler on two separate occasions, but he also destroyed a beautiful memorial service, harmed an innocent girl (on purpose!) in the line of fire, and went after all our beloved Mystic Falls residents. This guy is so badass that he rides around in a mega RV, whittles his own stakes, dips his gloves in vervain, and sports a crazy dragon tattoo (basically what we imagine Daenerys Targaryen’s fire-spitting babies are going to look like on Game of Thrones) on his right forearm!
Speaking of tattoo, did anyone else notice how familiar the ink on the back of Connor’s hand looked?

We couldn’t shake the nagging deja vu feeling and it finally hit us in the middle of the night…Jeremy Gilbert y’all!
Right before the highly anticipated Vampire Diaries Season 4 premiere, the CW released mesmerizing character portraits complete with Latin inscriptions. In his individual shot, Jeremy was seen holding weapons and sporting a tattoo. And guess what? It appears to be the same one as Connor’s…and the same one that Stefan noticed on Connor’s wooden stake bullets!

The symbol emblazoned on Jeremy and Connor’s hands is called Aegishjalmur. Commonly referred to worldwide as the “Helm of Awe,” it is an ancient Norse magic symbol that was believed to bestow power in battle, grant protection against adversaries, and confer dominance in conflict. In Icelandic sagas, it is it can be found to confer power and dominance in conflict. (So, in a nutshell, this spells bad news for all anyone with fangs in Mystic Falls!) However, this is based on previous mythologies — for all we know, TVD could easily shake things up a bit!
Oh! And lest we forget, in sneak peek photos from “The Five,” it seems as though Alexander, the vampire hunter who shares a mysterious past with Rebekah, has a sword decorated with this exact magical stave. Intriguing, yes? Check it out:

Knowing that Connor is a powerful hunter — and that we’re about to find out some disturbing news aboutRebekah’s involvement with Alexander, as well as Klaus’ run-in with a band of warriors in 12th century Italy — what do you think this implies about Jeremy’s story arc on TVD? Why do you think they have matching tattoos?
